Jason begs his father to buy him a balloon.
The chapter opens with a cutscene depicting the Mars family on an outing to a shopping mall. As Ethan, follow Jason when he starts wandering off. Ethan can call out Jason's name, but the boy doesn't listen and continues walking away. Jason eventually stops in front of a clown and asks his father to buy him a balloon. The clown tells Ethan that the balloon costs $2. Ethan looks for the money in his pockets, then hurries away as Jason has started wandering off again. Grace walks over with Shaun and says that the mall is becoming crowded, then notices that Jason is missing. Worried, she asks Ethan where he is. Ethan explains that he'll try to find him.
Push through the crowd toward the escalators, which are around the corner to the left. From here, walk toward the large group of balloons; after this point, the camera automatically locates any red balloons within Ethan's immediate environment. Find the first red balloon. Ethan mistakes the boy carrying the balloon for Jason, then apologizes when he sees that the boy is not his son. Go towards the entrance of the mall, following the second red balloon. Once outside, Ethan notices Jason across the street. He calls out to him, then realizes that a car is approaching and the driver hasn't noticed Jason running into the road. Desperate to protect his son from harm, Ethan runs toward Jason and dives for him to try to get him out of the car's way. Both of them are hit by the car, and Grace runs over to them crying as Shaun watches. The red balloon that Jason was holding slowly floats away into the sky as the chapter ends.
